Parents taking over their childs life

Reading Gym Candy brought out something important in that happens in real life parents living their dreams through their children. In the book Mike’s father was a star in college but didn’t have the same success in the NFL. When he had his first child which was a son he took no time giving his little boy a football and telling him to try to run and get pass him. His son was very young at the time but he did not care he wanted his son to have every advantage in the game that he could. His father even went to the extreme to hold his son out a grade so that he could be a year older than the rest of the players in like pee wee league. All of this put pressure on his son and made mike want to do anything to make his father pound. In America people like this really exist driving their kids to the dirt, taking away their child hood away from them at a young age. This happens to a lot of kids, dealing with sports, or pageants even boy scouts with their derby race cars. Being passionate about a sport is one thing but trying to enforce every little detail about a sport to a child is ridiculous. Mike Johnson was not the first child that this unfortunate childhood has happen to and he will not be the last. When a parent is driven to make their child the next star it could be ruining their child’s life.

My book really talks about how a good player starts to look for an advantage over the completion in football. It really has two issues, the first is how hard it is to impress your parents Mike wasn’t to make his dad proud and be able to succeed in the next level that his dad was not able to do. Since he was little mike’s dad wanted to leave his dream through his son so he push him all the way every day until mike didn’t want to do anything but please his dad. A lot of parents do this push their kids so hard. They don’t do this just in sports but pageants singing anything that they can give them satisfaction that they help get there child to the top. The next would be steroids which has hit sports really hard in football, baseball and even the Olympics. Some athletes that where headed to the hall of fame, and later to find out they tested positive for steroids later. Then it comes out that your favorite athlete isn’t as great as you would have thought he or she was. Athlete’s being on steroids have been a hot subject lately almost everybody in sports today that have put up big numbers in the game have either dealt with steroids or taken it. A lot of them that have got caught have blamed getting hurt and steroids have help them get better but it all is the same it helps you in the game but hurt you in the long run.

The Main Character

My main charter is a daddy’s boy. He does anything to make his daddy happy even when he was a baby and his daddy would not let him go through him and he started to cry, his daddy said there no crying in football instantly he stop crying and proved he could get through his father. His father is the reason why he is not in the right grade his father held him back so that he could have the advantage in pee wee football. He didn’t like the fact that he was older than everybody but his dad told him that it would benefit him in the game and he accepted the fact and went with it. From the begging of the story he was born a follower he never had a chance to decide what he wanted his father said he likes football so that is what he is going to do. His mother tried to give him an opportunity to do something but he said he was having fun just playing football which was what his father did in college but didn’t succeed in the National Football League. Every time somebody talked bad about his father he always wanted to defend his dad by saying they don’t like him because he embarrassed them in a game. He always over did his dad stories he would pump them up make them sound better than what it was. He wants to be able to be like his dad but make it the league and do well to unlike his dad.

I have just started reading my new book for reading called Gym Candy. So far my main character to me has too much pressure on him at a young age. At age four his father is expecting him to zig zag like he is a professional athlete. From the title gym candy seems like steroids so I am guessing it is going to be so much pressure on the main charter to be good and follow after his father who had a great college career but didn’t work out in the pros. The main charter is probably going to be a running back one of the most ware and tare positions in the game of football one major injury and he could be done for a while. This is not the main charter fault. His father has corrupted his son mind so far that even when in pain from football he still takes it and say this is what football is about. Like a mother she worries and doesn’t want to see her son get seriously hurt like her husband was but she knows that football is in his hart and he won’t stop until he has nothing left in the tank. This relates to real life society portrays that if you not a model or athlete or even a rapper or singer you are not successful because you’re not on T.V. and do not have the fancy cars and clothes that they have. People go through life trying to be the best at what they do or their parents push them to do it.

hating on the text book

Most of the time I do not get the text it is hard for me to understand. It uses it fancy words and big definitions but it does not relate to me. When told to read ahead before class so I can get an understanding before class, I usually don’t even read it because I believe that it is going to be a waste of time. You know it’s real difficult to understand when the instructor gives you different types examples that relate to you that would make since for you to understand. They have the old boring professors that wright these books and they just put you to sleep and make you not want to pick the book up. I say they need to get better books out that make since and are a little interesting because reading is starting to become absolute. Why do they take so long to get to the point? I usually never learn from the book I have to wait until the teacher or instructor teaches on it. That is bad because now that I haven’t read cannot get into the class discussion because I didn’t understand it. I know I am supposed to be in college but does it have to be so boring where it puts me to sleep. I hope they change it in the future because soon nobody will want to read there text book because it would serve no purpose have the class would fell because its more than just me who does not like text books.

Reading blog week 7

Reading Liar has had different effects on me as a reader. While reading this book sometimes I have just wanted to stop because how much they switch up the time zone. One moment they would be talking about the boy that died and the effects it is having on this girl and then it jumps to the beginning on how they first meet. This book confuses me I am a begging middle and end type of guy I do not like jumping around like that. I get into the book and get stuck on a very interesting situation and then I am in some other circumstance. The book is kind of good as you get deeper into it but it won’t go in my favorites of all time. Another thing about the book is that as I read I am on guard because I don’t want to believe here and get fooled nothing she says is the truth to me even though so far some of the stuff she has said which seem impossible she swears that it is the truth. There has been some big time lies where I have been like wow really you would lie about that. So far it is mind grasping even though it has boring parts in it, it was times where I almost closed the book because I was tired of reading it and then something out the ordinary happens and I keep reading to see what happens. I am almost done with the book and I am on the edge to see what happens.

How i hate reading

Reading was never one of my strong points as matter of fact I never liked reading even when I was a child. As a child, they say reading is very important in helping with mental development but I never listen until I was older and didn’t have good studding or reading skills. I have never picked up a book for the fun of it. Reading Is the last thing I want to do on my spare time when I am force to read for a class assignment I look at that as a punishment. I have tried to make myself read and hoped that I would learn to love it and it would become a good habit but no not me. I do not know why I hate reading so much knowing that I like to date dream a lot you would think I would loved to pick up a book and let my mind wonder but I just can’t get into it like that. Reading is like a waste of time to me when I read I feel like I missed something in life, those are hours I will never get back. I still try to have hope that I will get going with my reading because reading is life. Probably as I get a little older I will get into it because I will need it for my job, reading won’t be a big thing for my job but it will be a part of my career and it will come in handy.

Liar part I

Finally got my book Liar, and so far very boring and confusing. I was very confused in the beginning because I didn’t realized that she was going from the past to the present until I read the pages again which was very painful I hate going back to read over what I all ready read. So in this story you have a mixed female that is not really well liked when she first gets to this high school. This girl likes to lie obviously for no reason, she says she wants a new beginning and wants things to be different at this school but she does what she always does lies this is one of the beginning. One thing is so far in the book they have a beginning and a after the beginning is the past and after is the present. In the present is where it is interesting her friend Zach is dead and interesting things start to bring their relationship to the light like she finds out that she is not his real girlfriend that even though they hang out after school he never tells anybody about her and she finds out he claims another girl in school. The book so far tells about the lies she done told so far and they are kind of stupid there are no purpose for them. I hope as I go on that the book picks up because it doesn’t make since so far. This is why I don’t really like chick books it takes a lot of time to get to the point. I hope it gets better as I read

One of my favorite books

I have never been a person for reading. I do not get very excited for reading so for me to have a book I like is a big deal like having a black man for president. Only a couple of favorites are on my list Witness and Nights where my favorite books of all time until last semester. My teacher assigned a book for the class to read and I was not happy but to past the class I had to. At first I didn’t read it right away but it had to be done before thanksgiving break so I finally got started. Finally started to read the book it was called Hunger games it was very interesting and boring as I read the first two chapters of that book I found myself wondering off it is very hard for me to keep my mind on one thing for a long. So I thought it was the same kind of boring book like the rest of them. As I read deeper in the book it began to get interesting and good and I started to do something I never did before my mind wasn’t wondering off like it all ways do. I started to lose track of time and didn’t want to stop because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. When I went to sleep I would dream about it and when I got up that was the first thing I wanted to do. It was a strange felling me having fun reading but I can say Hunger Games was added to the list of favorite books of all time.
